Global Roblox Outage – Is Roblox Down?
Update: Jan. 21, 2022 at 1:35pm CT — Roblox is fully functional
As of noon on Jan. 21, 2022, Roblox is experiencing a platform-wide outage, resulting in players around the globe losing connection to the site and receiving a 503 Error. This is not the first time Roblox has experienced a global outage similar to this one, as many players recall the nearly three-day downtime that occurred in October of 2021. Though there's no news as to when Roblox will return to being fully stable, the expectation at the moment is that the outage should only last a few hours at the most.
What is a 503 Error?
A 503 Service Unavailable Error typically occurs when the site that you're trying to reach is unable to complete your transfer request or, in other words, can't successfully lead you to where you want to go. This can happen for multiple reasons, but the most common instances are either the website is receiving too many users attempting to access it at one time, or it's been taken down by the site admins for maintenance. In the case of Roblox, considering the platform's massive popularity, either of these possibilities could be causing the 503 Error.
More often than not, this error is not fixable by the user, meaning that it's just a waiting game until Roblox gets things up and running.

When will Roblox be back up?
This question is unanswerable at the moment, however, according to the official Roblox server status page, progress is currently being made to fix the issue. Within 30 minutes, the outage was taken from global to individual users, so we should be seeing a total fix within the next few hours at most. Considering the chaos that ensued during October's massive outage, Roblox is likely extremely prepared to handle any kind of server issues moving forward, including this one.
