This sequel is set two and a half years after Bravely Default and follows hero Tiz Arrior after he's rescued by a young woman from the moon named Magnolia Arch.
Eurogamer contributor Simon Parkin called 2013's Bravely Default "a game that frequently subverts the classic designs," upon recommending the 3DS RPG in his review. "Its makers pile the novelties high in a way that will delight and surprise both genre die-hards and newcomers."
